Strategy

Sorcero automatically generates medical insight reports based on your key questions or topics.

Using the Strategy Page

The Strategy page holds your auto-generated and updated medical insight reports so you can see current insights without assembling records yourself.

Reports are updated every time a relevant record is ingested. On the first week of each month, the platform will create a historical report for the previous month.

A note on naming: Depending on how your project is configured, the platform may label these as Key Insight Questions (KIQs) or Key Insight Topics (KITs). The screens and steps are the same either way. This article will use the term KIQs.

Where to Find It

Click Strategy in the left navigation. The page has two views.

View

What it shows

Strategy page (KIQ list)

Every active KIQ in the project, one per row, with a short report summary and metrics

KIQ details page

One KIQ, with its full latest report, historical reports, and the records behind them

Click any row in the list to open its details page.

Reading the KIQ List

Each row shows four things:

  • Title. The question itself.
  • KIQ Report. A short plain-text summary of the cumulative answer built from all relevant records in the project.
  • What's New. What changed since the previous month, with the date it was last updated.
  • Metrics. The number of records and stakeholders used to build the report.

If a KIQ was added recently, these columns show a placeholder instead. Processing takes time. Check back in a few hours or the next day.

Reading a KIQ Report

Click a KIQ to see the full report. The details page has four parts.

KIQ details. The question, its prompt, and pills for KIT, Drug, and Disease State if those were set. A last-updated date sits alongside them.

Latest Report. The most recent month's report, in two sections:

  • The cumulative answer, drawn from all relevant records to date. Use this to judge how close the question is to being answered.
  • What's New, covering how the current month's records differ from the prior cumulative picture. A month with little movement suggests the question may be answered, or that the field is not hearing much on it.

Click View Full Report to open the complete report in a sidebar. You can copy or expand the report.

Data Retrieval Summary. This shows how many records and stakeholders were reviewed when generating the report, grouped into categories by data source, stakeholder type, and stakeholder country. Click Show All if a category lists more than three values.

Historical Reports. One report per month, each with its own View Full Report. Use these to trace how the answer moved over time.

Reviewing the Records Behind a Report

  1. In the Data Retrieval Summary, click View All to open the Records sidebar with every record reviewed.
  2. Click a category instead to open the sidebar filtered to just those records.

Customer Admin: Adding and Maintaining KIQs

Adding, editing, and refreshing KIQs require Customer Admin permissions. If you do not see these controls, your account does not have that role.

To add a KIQ:

  1. On the Strategy page, click Add KIQ. The Create KIQ modal opens.
  2. Enter the Key Insight Question.
  3. Optionally enter a Prompt. By default this appends to the prompt defined for your whole project. Select Override Project Prompt to use only what you entered.
  4. Optionally set KIT, Drug, and Disease State.
    1. KIT doesn't appear if your Strategy page uses KITs instead of KIQs.
  5. Save. The KIQ is queued for processing and appears in the list with placeholders.

The project-level prompt applies to every KIQ and is set up with Sorcero as part of configuring the Strategy page.

To update a KIQ: Open its details page and click Edit KIQ. To put a KIQ back in the processing queue without changing it, click Refresh now.

Writing a KIQ that Produces a Useful Report

A KIQ should be a single answerable question about one topic, in the language your records already use.

Instead of

Ask

"Steroid market"

"What is HCP perception of the evolving steroid treatment market?"

"Tolerability and dosing and access"

Three separate KIQs, create one per topic or define the topics further in the prompt

"Is the drug doing well?"

"What barriers do prescribers report when initiating therapy in elderly patients?"

Tips

  • Group related questions under a shared KIT so you can find them together. Note: If your Strategy page uses KITs, the KIT field won't appear.
  • Set Drug and Disease State where they apply.
  • Use the Prompt field to shape the format of the answer, not to add a second question.

What to Expect and Known Constraints

  • Reports refresh overnight, and only when new relevant records are ingested or records and stakeholders are edited. A quiet month produces no new report.
  • The current and previous month update automatically. Earlier months are kept as historical reports once they fall outside that window.
  • The first report for a new KIQ has no What's New section, because there is no prior month to compare against.
  • The Strategy page is rolling out in stages, so there may be changes and additions to it over time.

Troubleshooting

Problem

What to do

A KIQ shows placeholders instead of a report

Processing is still running. Check back in a few hours or the next day

The report has not changed this month

No new relevant records arrived. Confirm the expected records were loaded

No Add KIQ button

You do not have Customer Admin permissions to add KIQs.

The KIQ list is empty

No KIQs have been added yet. If you don't have access to Add KIT, wait until a Customer Admin or Sorcero adds your KIQs.
